Preschool Program


Description

Sessions are designed especially for preschoolers; the goal is to create a positive first skating experience.

Canskate Program


Description

The CanSkate program teaches fundamental skating skills like skating forwards, backwards, how to stop, turn, spin and jump. The skills are taught and emphasized through fun activities and continuous movement in small groups.

Canpower Skate Program


Description

The CanPowerSkate program stresses balance, power, agility, speed and endurance skills, all which are especially important for hockey and ringette players. CanPowerSkate provides an alternative to figure skating and is an ideal complement for those athletes playing on hockey or  ringette teams. Strong skating skills and good physical conditioning are provided through participation in this program.

Adult Skate Program


Description

Our Adult Skate Program is specially geared for adults (age 18 to 99!) who always wanted to learn to skate, for those who want to improve their skating skills, for those ex-figure skaters who want to get on the ice again, or those who are interested in continuing their tests and even participate in adult competitions!

Associate Member


Description

 Any skater who is a member in good standing of a Skate Canada Skating Club.

 Cost

  • 10 sessions of Free Style $100.00
  • 10 session Hability or Danses, Stroking   $50.00

Canadian Tire "JumpStart" Program


Fund Allocation Guidelines 

The following are the guidelines of the Canadian Tire JumpStart Program for your local chapter.

 

  1. Grants will not exceed a maximum of $300 per application
  2. For children and youth between the ages of 4 and 18 years of age.
  3. Funds are awarded for registration fees, equipment and/or transportation costs.
  4. Funding is available for members of the same family for the same season.
  5. Funding must be for ongoing physical activities/programs that last a season.
  6. Funding is allocated twice a year-spring/summer (deadline date is May 1st) and fall/winter (deadline date is October 1st).
  7. Incomplete applications forms will be sent back to the applicant for completion if required.
  8. Cheques for registration grants will be made payable to a league, association or club.
  9. We cover the counties of Kent, Albert and Westmorland.
